Title: UQM Resolution Post by: Lord_Azrael on September 15, 2003, 04:27:39 pm Can you run UQM in a window without the entire resolution of the screen/monitor/display changing?
Thanks in advance, Title: Re: UQM Resolution Post by: Paxtez on September 15, 2003, 05:01:54 pm Frankly but I have no idea what you are asking.
But... Heres all the resolution info you need from the manual: -r 320x240 (or --res) Sets the screen resolution. Unless --opengl is set, the only valid values are 640x480 and 320x240 -f (or --fullscreen) Uses full screen mode. Pretty straightforward. Usually good to combine with -r 320x240. Use -f if you want the game to take up the entire screen, or use -r XXXxYYY if you want to run the game in a window that is bigger. Title: Re: UQM Resolution Post by: Lord_Azrael on September 15, 2003, 05:20:32 pm What I mean is currently, when I start up UQM it changes the resolution to 640x480 and takes up the full screen.
Is there anyway to make it just take up a small window so I can see other things? Title: Re: UQM Resolution Post by: Krulle on September 15, 2003, 05:28:07 pm I think this post belongs in <Technical Issues>.
Try asking there. But my experience is no. Try playing -f (fullscreen), the resolution will be set back to your normal windows-resolution when quitting (at least it does so here with me). If you want a windowed version (-w), your screenresolution must be high enough to display your selected 640x480 pixels. I do not know if you can select -r 960x720 as resolution. Title: Re: UQM Resolution Post by: Paxtez on September 15, 2003, 07:56:55 pm Ahh, I'm guessing your desktop is set to 640x480, because by default UQM doesn't start with the fullscreen option on. So just add the flag '-r 320x240' (see the tech for FAQ on how to do that) and it should only take up 1/4 your screen.

http://www.submedia.net/uqm/ (at the bottom) It's an executable java archive, so it is cross-platform. Just double-click! ... unless you're on windows, which is too stupid to figure out what to do with it. This can be fixed. Create a shortcut to the jar file, then insert 'java -classpath ' before the existing text, and append ' UQMLauncher' after it. Now you can double-click the shortcut and that will do the job. If you move the jar file, you will have to adjust or replace the shortcut. |
