Title: Is there a credits cheat available?
Post by: jluckett on October 29, 2003, 07:52:28 am
Hello,

I've checked the forums and I've seen references to a few save game editors but none of the ones I've found allow editing of the credits for use with the Melnorme.

Is anyone aware of a save game editor that does support this feature? :)

Thanks!

Yes, I don't remember the full link but it can be found in PNF: "Pages Of Now and Forever". Go to sc2.sourceforge.net and you will see it there. If you want more specific location, wait for someone else to answer, I am too lazy :'(

Thanks for the reply!  :)

Are you referring to this one?
http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/files/uqm.shtml

If so, it doesn't seem to allow for an adjustment of credits -- only RU, crew, fuel, and landers (as well as the actual ship equipment)?

there is no editor that allows you to change your bio credit settings. the one you pointed out, is the only editor there is for uqm. if you wait untill the final release of the game, there might be someone that might make a editor. the reason, im guessing, there isnt more editors, is that the code might change from now untill the final release. that would be a project on to itself to keep it updated. so im sorry, but thats all there is.

=spoiler=
on another note, you might try to locate RAINBOW WORLDS early in the game, and trade there locations for bio credits. just a thought.

No problem.  Thanks for the help, guys!

Given the choices, it looks like I don't have much choice but to go to the Rainbow Worlds early on.  ;D

Melnorme like to examine little creatures with their probes, too, so get lots of lifeforms. Shame you can't recapture the VUX Beast and sell it to Reddish. (Agggghhhhkk....)
Whee, credits galore!

"Yes, Reddish, we'll sell you the VUX Beast for only 50 credits!"
*exchange is made*
"In addition, we will sell you the sheet of commands it knows and ways to subdue it for 50,000 credits."

Actually, the VUX beast is worth bio credits as usual... I don't remember how many.

15 points.  ;)

But I think he was talking about the fact that the beastie isn't roaming around Alpha Cerenkov I after trashing ZEX's place.

why not make your own credit cheat ?

i got a memory finder utilty at www.gamehacking.com  called cheat'o'matic   its like a version of gamewizard (you all remember that right ? ? ?) ;)

anyway with that you can modify everything from minerals, bios, credits (mine is at 999999 at the moment, got my ship all fueled up before i left SOL-sys).  :)

my problem is finding a ship editor :(

if you want to take a look at a print screen of the result of my hack

http://www.geocities.com/projectstriker/index.htm

if you just want to freeze the credit value
Ex: Patched script for a ON button
and Unpatched script for a OFF button

Patched script:
Poke 457076 90 90 90 90 90 90

otherwise for me i just use "T-search" to increase the bio-credit values every time it reaches a low level.

I recommend Winhack2 over cheat'o'matic, it is much betterz
