Title: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: yodeling_Yoda on October 31, 2003, 10:08:58 am first i have to say i sucked at SC2. the only way i managed to pass SC2 (DOS version) was through a ship editing program that made all my earth ships practically invincible.
are there any ship editing programs out there that can change my ship speed and firing power ? i am getting my ass kicked by every bad aliens i meet :( Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: Michael Martin on October 31, 2003, 12:57:59 pm I suggest practicing in Super-Melee 8) Failing that, cyborg mode. Failing that, hack the code in the src/sc2code/ships/ directories.

mine is C:\Program Files\The Ur-Quan Masters and its not in my C:\Documents and Settings\Yodeling_yoda\Application Data\uqm folder either :( Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: pompo500 on October 31, 2003, 04:49:02 pm LOL ;D

Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: TD on October 31, 2003, 06:22:42 pm He means hack the source code and compile yourself a modified version of UQM. Personally I think it would be 100 times easier to just practice a little bit.

Practice, practice, practice, practice Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: Jack on October 31, 2003, 06:30:00 pm You should search Melee Guides from internet, butt ass Dwight said before; practice, practice, etc.
Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: yodeling_Yoda on November 01, 2003, 12:52:14 am 3 month after making first contact with earth and my main ship already got tracking, hellborn, hi-efficeny fuel and all modified landers (thanks to hacked bio credit and trading with the Melnorme).
i can kick butt with that ship no problem but its my earthling cruisers (the one that shoot 1 missile). I made a cheat freezing the crew and recharge rate but thats no fun, i want to edit the speed etc on all the other ships too. so thats why i want a ship editor. After playing with UQM a while I came to the point when Greenish hasnĀ“t got anything to sell but fuel - sure much cheaper than fuel at Sol station, but still ONLY fuel from a race that has thousands of sources of information in time and space of which to reveal a single one is so expensive that the whole earth would be indebted... Instead of having unlimited Resource Units or Credits I would like to have higher prices - after all the Shofixti quest already reduces crew price from 3 to 1 and after one frees the Chrmmm there are no RU problems anymore as far as I remember. bye Michael Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: Michael Martin on November 15, 2003, 03:40:48 am You don't get infinite RU until the game is just about to end.

Unless you rush to do the syreen/mycon thing and get the sun-device to proycon to free the chmmr!!! Well, it is almost 1/4 from the game's mission... </spoiler> Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: AnonomouSpathi on November 15, 2003, 10:10:10 am Actually, that's wrong. I've done it - but they do not give you infinite resources until you have the bomb strapped to the hull of your precursor ship. Freeing them early just gets you access to the avatar ships - they don't give you infinite RUs until it's time to go blow up the sa-matra.
Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: Deep-Jiffa on November 15, 2003, 05:16:51 pm Probably true, but very strange. I mean, if they can help you building your flag-ship and building many escorts, why would they keep for themself the RU until you don't need it anymore?

You made a cheat to freeze the crew number? I WANT THAT... please :) Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: Nic. on November 18, 2003, 09:26:48 pm For Windows, the best ship editor has got to be Microsoft Visual C++ (http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc/). The game even includes the necessary configuration files for use with this editor, although it requires version 6.0 or higher. The learning curve is somewhat steep, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find that you're able to reconfigure almost every aspect of the game.
For Linux, MacOS X, and BSD platforms, I recommend vi (http://www.vim.org/about.php) or Emacs (http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/emacs.html) with a cscope (http://cscope.sourceforge.net/) front-end. the learning curve is similarly high here (some would argue that it's worse) but the low overhead more than makes up for it. :) Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: microsoft999 on November 19, 2003, 01:52:02 pm Quote For Windows, the best ship editor has got to be Microsoft Visual C++ (http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc/). Title: Re: I Need Ship editior - help please Post by: JonoPorter on November 23, 2003, 09:46:31 pm If you really want to cheat and ruin half the game there is a save game editor at "the pages of now and forever" just search for it in yahoo
I dont think you can edit the earthling cruiser with it though. personaly i enjoyed the RU collecting. |
