Title: Ur-Quan install on linux help
Post by: Dan Church on December 06, 2003, 07:40:50 am
After playing Ur-Quan masters on windows for a long time, I made the switch to linux.  I try to install the RPM(its a mandrake rpm I found at a mandrake site, incase that makes a difference.  I use mandrake linux).  It says that it needs Uqm-Data.  I have the content file downloaded.  where do I put it or extract it to to make the install work?

Hey, neat..  Somebody made Mandrake RPMs.  What's better, rpmfind.net knows about them!

Long, boring story made beautifully short, it appears that you need to install two RPMs to get it going on Mandrake:

uqm-0.3-1mdk.i586.html (http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/mandrake/9.2/contrib/i586/uqm-0.3-1mdk.i586.html)
uqm-data-0.3-1mdk.noarch.html (http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/cooker/contrib/i586/uqm-data-0.3-1mdk.noarch.html)

The content file you downloaded is effectively useless to you, unless you override dependencies and force the program to install (which is almost always a bad idea)
