The Um-gah have a little...ahem...problem... with the talking pet. Pay a visit to Orz space, there find the Taalo playground, and bring the object you find there back to the Umgah homeworld. -Then- try talking with them. Title: Re: Umgah??? You need to talk to them at their homeworld, not just to one of their ships in space, cause that's where the dnyarri is.

Just guessing - but I think that when Arilou tells you of the talking pet it starts a countdown of when the Umgah will be taken over. Try talking to Arilou, wasting time mining, (30 days or so) and then talk to the Umgah. Maybe (I am not sure) that will work!
