Post by: Timo Halmetoja on March 30, 2004, 01:22:32 pm
Glad to have found this great game, but i have a nasty problem running uqm... I'm using win98 and i've tried downloading and installing over and over again, changed options etc, but still when i run uqm it says:

Warning: %APPDATA% is not set. Falling back to "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data"
Warning: %USERPROFILE% is not set. Falling back to "..\userdata" for %APPDATA%

Saved games are kept in C:/Ohjelmatiedostot/The Ur-Quan Masters/content/../userd
ata/uqm/save/.
Initializing SDL (pure).
Could not initialize SDL: DirectInputDevice::SetCooperativeLevel: Unknown Direct
Input error: 0x80004001.

I don't know too much about this stuff, so i have no idea what to do about it, hope someone could help... I'd really appreciate it.

Could you check whether you've got the newest version of DirectX and your video drivers?

Reinstall UQM it's missing windows marks this as a hidden file due to the the dll extention (driver file) that should solve it.

Disabling or Deleting the 3DO music might work since that's what Ogg is used for.
