Title: Kill Bill
Post by: Shiver on April 20, 2004, 09:23:54 am
My god are these two movies ever sweet. Saw the second in theater a few days back. I got the first one on DVD but I'm trying to resist watching it anymore since I'd prefer to watch the two together. The second one has a lot more story (which is--surprisingly--quite sad) but none of the fights are quite as cool as the one near the end of Volume 1.

Haven't seen either one?

No, i haven't seen either.
But i really do not care.
I do not know what it's about.
I haven't heard anything about these movies.
The title really does make me turn away.
So i am stupid.
So what?

BTW: I take the pic is from the DVD with subtitles on?

You see, this is why I got tired of you and stopped talking to you over AIM half a year ago. What the hell do you like doing? I sort of doubt Death999 has any interest in Kill Bill either, but he's still good to chat with once in a blue moon.

The pic is from the second one - that guy is speaking Mandarin Chinese so it gets subtitled no matter what. I found it myself, but I'm not the one who first posted it on the net. I can sort of understand someone not liking Kill Bill if they don't know much about it since I didn't either until a friend of mine got me into it. The previews and ads I've seen for it have been pretty lame. I can pretty much guarantee that anyone who's into martial arts or anime will love this.

I have never used any kind of instant messaging. So i doubt you stopped talking to me via AIM, since i never used it in first place.

And violent films about killing someone/something is not reall my matter. I like SciFi-films (not like Sphere, more like B5-series), and block-buster kind of films (Something about Mary, ...).

But you could tell me what the film is about.
The teaser gave me nothing which caugth my attention.

Enjoy!

You don't have to be into either to appreciate Kill Bill.
The movie is based on nothing more then lots of the good old Ultra Violence, and altough I normally despise movies like that, this one is different. There is nothing deep in the plot, it's just an excause, a background for all the fights, the amount of blood and corpses is surreal and made me laugh several times.
All those things usualy make me think "this is bullshit", but this time they didn't. I left the cinema with a starnge feeling, like my mind... or my soul has tampered with... I enjoyed all the violence, blood and dead bodies knowing that they had no purpose. It was just like A Clockwork Orange, only without the moralistic massage.

edit:
Shiver could you get rid of that picture, or make it smaller? It resizes the whole forum and makes it harder to read.

Whoa! how did I get dragged into this?

First: Krulle, if you don't care, why post here? Reminds me of that guy who came here and said he hated UQM because the Ilwrath ship was dumb and it was impossible to navigate.
Second: Shiver, chill, dude.
Third: you're kind of right about my interest, but it'd be nice to see eventually.

I'm going to see the first part on tuesday, and then possibly the second part later the same week. It's going to be interesting to say the least.

And as usual D-man is right. Chill folks, and let the smooth groove reign supreme.

Although I am a bit curious as to whom Shiver has been chatting to if it wasn't Krulle. An impostor?

I don't think Krulle is lying. It was another guy with that same bunny avatar. I got them mixed up. Don't like this guy either, though.

Second: Shiver, chill, dude.

I find great irony in this statement.

I posted here, because Shiver asked

I just answered that question. No real need for it, but then, when i am in a pub and someone asks this question i also answer.

I am not inclined to see the films, because i heard and saw nothing that teased me to see it. One or two of my friends said that it is kind of great, but they said nothing that teased my into getting curious.

Maybe someone could enligthen me, what the films are about?
Except that someone is intending to Kill Bill, i can guess nothing from what i heard/ the filmtitle/ ... .

Anyway,
Enjoy!

I still say it's a conspiracy. You're trying to cover up a complicated intrigue, to have plausable denial for when your and Krulle's master planTM becomes widely known.

But Krulle, aren't you curious why they want to kill Bill? what do you think he's done? As I said, I'm watching it tuesday, mostly because I've heard a lot of good about it, and partly because I've enjoyed other Tarantino movies in the past.

I see the Kill Bill series as homage to all the B and C rated martial arts flicks. I mean, listen to the overdone sound effects, the general fighting styles, and the sheer amount of -gore-. Good God. They must've had to have a few retakes when fighting in the first one due to slipperiness. I mean, the decapitated and delimbed are spouting it in WAVES.

One more day til I find out why someone wants to Kill Bill!

Is the film about what Bill has done? Why they want to kill him?

No good teaser for catching my attention...
Just not making me curious.

Tarantino films are great, but i think i'll wait for the DVD-rental before watching this one. Especially since Tarantino has the habbit of having some people killed in his films, mostly just because they messed with the organized crime scene. No real need for a reson to kill someone.
So, no. I am not curious why someone wants to kill Bill.
That someone just wants to kill Bill, most probably has his personal reasons and the means to have it done.

Anyway, enjoy the film, Lukipela!
Don't let my lack of curiosity spoil the fun for you!

That's too bad because the first one was a must see big screen experience, the second could probably be enjoyed just as much as home as it is more plot based rather than the first, which is more action filled.

Maybe that's part of the problem: if the movie relies too much on action to attract viewers, it is not my case.
A large chunk of action is okay, but there must be a plot, otherwise i feel like "Hey, there is a new actor appearing in the film. How long will it take for him to get beaten up by the others?".
I just love good stories, the action is the spice to the story. And it should never be the other way round.

I'll just wait. There are enough movies out there, which i have not seen yet. Some of them are surely superb.

Enjoy!
