Title: some newbie questions Post by: ITP on May 03, 2004, 06:27:40 am This is my first game and i wanted to ask the following:
1.can you break the spathi made slave shield? 2.where in the galaxy(direction or coordinates) is the planet with the sophixti females? the melanrome told me about it but i havent located it on the starmap. 3.about my progress, i have the orz, zoqfot and had the spathi on my side, its nov 2156. i have met the yehat, thradash, umgah, kohr ah and illwrath. should i be worried about the 5 year limit? (Your precursor vessel may be powerful, but not that powerful. ;))
2. Been a while since I played the game... I don't remember. Somewhere in VUX space, but I don't remember the name of the system. 3. I think you still have plenty of time. One of the hardest things is to get yourself established resource-wise; once you've done that it's a matter of meeting all the races and doing what you need to do, with resource collecting on the side when you need to. Argh... can't get in to my account to post this. :( I must have entered my old e-mail address in when I registered and now I can't get at my password. Title: Re: some newbie questions Post by: Captain Smith on May 03, 2004, 09:29:08 am 1. No.
2. I hear there's a few interesting animals out towards VUX space. 3. It depends on how far you are at that point with your tasks. Depending on the groups you've met I'd probably say yes you will end up reloading the game for time limits. Stick with it though, you'll figure out stuff you can use. http://www.classicgaming.com/starcontrol/sc2/images/sc2_color_map.jpg It's a fairly-decent scan of the hyperspace map that originally shipped with the game -- it has all the spheres of influence from the SC1 era on them, which should give you what you're looking for. Title: Re: some newbie questions Post by: FalconMWC on May 04, 2004, 03:24:40 am Here is a hint system, works pretty well.
http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/hints/starcon2/1.php All you want to know! Title: Re: some newbie questions Post by: Captain Smith on May 04, 2004, 08:49:00 am Do you try to play the game for yourself ITP? All answers are within the game and you don't even have to deal with the Melnorme to get them.
Your Thraddash friends have the answer. Title: Re: some newbie questions Post by: Defender on May 04, 2004, 10:58:12 am where the heck was this forum when i playing this game back in 95, on the 3do. i called the 1-900 hotline for gamehints. cost me about 50 bucks. had to wait for all the BS before it would let me select my game...jerks. oh well... dont take too much of the help around here for granted. remember... for me, it was up hill both ways, in 6 ft of snow just to get to the arcade... ;)

There is only one way the Thraddash will tell you where the beast is, and you have to do all of the steps leading up to it "just right" (i.e., do one differently and it doesn't happen)
Title: Re: some newbie questions Post by: Culture20 on May 04, 2004, 08:56:17 pm Another thing that might help, ITP, is if you check up on any strange things that the Spathi undoubtedly told you about.
