Title: Problems with Arilou
Post by: Alexander on July 08, 2004, 03:13:56 pm
I accidently started a fight with an arilou ship. I didn,t kill it and now arilou won't hlp me to put the umgah (or burvix caster). They only say go seek death somewhere else. What to do?

Go to the periodically occuring star in their system that shows up on the map and then find their homeworld and make up with them there.  You might want to take a certain item found in the nearby planets north of you with you when you go though, because if you make up with them they might have a nice surprise for you.

Of course, some will put out the spoiler related stuff, but this should give you a start.

The arilou must put the bourvix casater on my flagship to be able to accesss quazi space. I got the caster, but even on their home planet they say "go seek death somewhere else" and didn't equip my ship with the caster.

That is because you don't need the caster - but a warp pod - more specific, a ur-quan warp pod. Looks like you don't like too many spoilers so I won't give you the name of the planet it is on, but just ask around with different aliens, maybe they saw something..... ;)

You know, it would be really nice if the aliens you 'attack!' and then run away from without firing would not react negatively. I mean, you didn't fire, what harm was done?
It would be pretty easy to code -- simply don't change the long-term conversational state flags if you go into combat via the pre-conversation Attack! command and then flee before firing.

But then how would we explain that the other ship would fire on you unprovoked? Oh well, engine difficulties.

Or you could say that when you do 'Attack!' your weapons are charged or loaded, the bomb bay doors open, your battle computer comes online, and the communication channels are jammed (after all, you can't communicate during battle).
You may not have actually hit the enemy, but it can still be considered a hostile act.

I didn't fire ti the arilou ship. By mistace i press attack, not converse. Now I have the warp pod, but arilou won't put the spawner on my ship. They say - "go seek death somewhere else". Can you help me?

Unless you have not been to their homeworld and begged, I believe your current situation is hopeless. Hope you have a save game! :-/

You're screwed. But it's still possible to finish the game, even without the portal spawner. You'll just have to hurry a bit more.
