Title: Problems getting remix music packs working Post by: GekkoGeck0 on July 18, 2004, 03:31:08 pm I'm using the Linux version of UQM, and I've installed all three remix music packs in the /content/packages/addons/uqmremix directory. They are not unzipped.
Starting up the game with the --addon uqmremix option, the first remix pack seems to work (I have the new music for the Arilou, for example) but the rest of the packs aren't working. I downloaded fresh copies to see if that was the problem... but it's still occurring. Anyone have any suggestions on why this is happening? Title: Re: Problems getting remix music packs working Post by: meep-eep on July 18, 2004, 07:55:37 pm You don't have any unpacked files in /content? Because unpacked files always override packed files.
Also, only the uqm-remix-pack[123].zip files can be used directly in the game, not the uqm-remix-pack[123]-extras.zip files. Title: Re: Problems getting remix music packs working Post by: hdgf on July 27, 2004, 05:41:35 am --addon uqmremix how do I do that?
Title: Re: Problems getting remix music packs working Post by: GekkoGeck0 on July 29, 2004, 06:12:59 am Well, yes, I do have some unpacked files. Mostly .MODs, but a few .OGGs as well.
I installed the game from Mandrake built RPMs. How would I fix this? Should I compile the game myself? Is this the fault of the RPMs? Title: Re: Problems getting remix music packs working Post by: meep-eep on July 30, 2004, 08:41:57 pm hdgf: I suggest you use a launcher program, such as this one (http://www.spacesynth.net/markvera/uqm-loader/uqmloader-1.1.zip) from Mark Vera instead.
GekkoGeck0: If you haven't put those files there yourself, it's the fault of whoever built the Mandrake RPMs. In that case I can only suggest not to use them, and install the game yourself according to the instructions on the download page. Compilation from source is not required. Title: Re: Problems getting remix music packs working Post by: GekkoGeck0 on August 06, 2004, 03:26:40 am Thanks meep-eep. I downloaded uqm-0.3-source.tgz and followed the instructions. After solving a few dependencies, it worked just fine and the remix packs work like a charm. Thanks again for your help.
