Title: Ship sound editing
Post by: johnnyfive on August 13, 2004, 07:39:06 am
Hello,

I've been playing through the game recently and have greatly enjoyed it - brings back my high school days.  I can’t get the flagship through the su-matra, but that’s a skill issue on my part.

Anyway, I’ve done sound design for a handful of games, and I noticed that there’s a few of the ship sound files that could use a little polishing.  I’m not talking about anything drastic like remaking the original sound, just fixing the clicks and pops (like the weapon sound loop on the umgah drone) and balancing out the volume (like the yehat guns) of some of them, subtle things like that.

I found the clips in the content zip file and I could probably get all the edits done in an evening if the team is interested.  Just let me know where to put the new wav files.

Hmm.. I know that the official policy is that UQM should be a "straight port" of sc2, but i've seen some errors and bugs get corrected.
If you were to edit them, they could certainly be included in "unnoficial" distibutions of UQM even if they don't make it into the official one.
