Title: Message board problems Post by: Dudewizard! on December 05, 2004, 11:08:54 pm I just registered but whenever I log in, it doesn't STAY logged in!! The very next page I view says I'm a guest. I just set my cookies to the lowest privacy setting and it still does it.
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Defender on December 06, 2004, 12:34:13 am this site needs to have third party cookies enabled in order to stay logged in.
~DEFIANT Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Dudewizard! on December 06, 2004, 02:22:59 am I'm allowing ALL cookies...
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Defender on December 06, 2004, 02:58:21 am do you use a firewall that has cookie filter? i had to give zone alarm permission to accept third party cookies. thats what solved staying logged in for me.
~DEFIANT Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: TiLT on December 06, 2004, 03:28:49 am Try deleting all your UQM-related cookies and logging in again. Your cookie might have been corrupted.
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Dudewizard! on December 06, 2004, 04:32:34 am I'm not using a firewall and deleting the cookies didn't work. Hang on, I'm going to try a different browser real quick.
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Dudewizard on December 06, 2004, 04:35:46 am ....And it worked. But damn, what a hassle.
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: TiLT on December 06, 2004, 04:42:07 pm If changing browser worked, then you definitely have a cookie problem. AFAIK, at least.
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: meep-eep on December 07, 2004, 01:52:26 am I once had a similar problem. It turned out that by system clock was set a year in the future, which meant that all new cookies would immediately expire.
Also, I recently updated the board software. After that, everyone would have to relogin (but once if you have cookies enabled, and those cookies are stored). After that, everyone would have to relogin (but once if you have cookies enabled, and those cookies are stored). I was wondering why all the "new" icons were gone. I never noticed I wasn't logged in. Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Zeep-Eeep on December 07, 2004, 08:07:31 pm I've had the same problem now for a few days. All this
talk of cookies is making me hungry. Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Death 999 on December 08, 2004, 03:17:23 am It took me forever to remember my password -- I hadn't logged in in around a year...
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Zeep-Eeep on December 08, 2004, 08:06:00 pm Actually, I'm still getting kicked. Same browser settings, accepting all cookies, no changes to the firewall. Grrr.
Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: meep-eep on December 09, 2004, 01:36:20 am If your broser allows it (I know at least Opera does) try deleting the old cookies used by the board (YaBBusername and YaBBpassword).

That did the trick, thanks. Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Zeep-Eeep on December 10, 2004, 08:42:37 pm Okay, I take that back. I'm still getting kicked every few days. I cleaned
the cookies, I logged back in. Why doesn't it save my login? Title: Re: Message board problems Post by: Zeep-Eeep on December 24, 2004, 07:57:56 am I htink I found it. When I upgraded Opera, my security was set to reject
cookies with invalid paths. It appears that as long as I allow cookies with invalid paths, the forum will let me log in. This was starting to bother me, since all the other forums/sites I post on save my login. |
