You were supposed to tell them to turn back when the went to rejoin the yehat, while you completed shofixti and vux quests. "I would like to know how to get the aqua helix..." Thraddash space. But you have to convince the thraddash to attack the kohr-ah, before you can steal this device from their homeworld. The only disadvantage is that you can't mooch ships off them anymore.

However, you need to use a certain device in their home system, so you can say to them that you're someone else... Pkunk should know more about this...
