Title: Re: i think the 0,4v Post by: harth1026 on June 20, 2005, 07:10:10 pm Usually it's not a good idea to land on those planets if you don't have the proper protection. Check out the statistics of the planet before you land to see if there's going to be environmental issues that you might face on the surface.

(http://sc2.sourceforge.net/screenshots/gasgiant.jpg) The relevant readings are the three bottom ones on the left side. -Temperature ( 1403 ) -Lightning/Thunder ( 8 ) -Tectonic/quake ( 0 ) You probably want a temperature and thunderbolt and tectonics ratings below 3 or something. 0 is safe, 8 is not safe, yet. In the image above you see a surface temperature of 1403, which is way too hot. I'm not sure where the flames start but it's probably a few hundred degrees. Title: Re: i think the 0,4v Post by: Zieman on June 21, 2005, 04:28:54 am Regardless of version, you'll want to land on planets/moons with Weather of less than 3 and Tectonics of less than 5 or 6 and Temperature below 500 degrees. Of course these values are only my preferences, worrth applying until you get lander improvements from the Melnorme, or unless you are very good with the lander.
Title: Re: i think the 0,4v Post by: Culture20 on June 21, 2005, 07:29:16 am Maybe the version pirk92's using has PC scans set to default?
Type uqm --cscan 3do to get the pictures Title: Re: i think the 0,4v Post by: cloneof on June 21, 2005, 12:18:05 pm well it scans complete when i scan...
Title: Re: i think the 0,4v Post by: harth1026 on June 21, 2005, 07:05:22 pm Pirk, maybe you can tell us what the actual issue is here instead of us guessing. Does it not scan properly? Are the values unreadable after the scan? Or is it something else that we're not thinking of?
Title: No one can hear you scream in space. Post by: Deus Siddis on June 22, 2005, 12:52:01 am Your problem is that you're not moving fast enough. When you're on a hazardous world, NEVER stop moving. Relax, let your reflexes drive for a while, and move fluidly from one mineral pile to another. And get tech from the melnorme as fast as you can. Their upgrades will make this 100 times easier.
If you go to calmer worlds, your profits will be lower. It may be unnecessarily difficult to mine in this game, but that's the way it is. Hey, space is a tough place where wimps eat flaming plasma death. Title: Re: No one can hear you scream in space. Sourceforge mirrors aren't "guys"... Instead.. They all have a PERFECT copy of the "master" file... Probably some settings you changed somewhere or something... Oh, and using 5 seconds of extra time to type a bit better english saves you like a few days, so we can actually SOLVE the problem... We don't like "lol", "omgwtf" and other neat stuff like that here, ysee? :) find the secret UQM quote! Title: Re: i think the 0,4v Post by: cloneof on June 23, 2005, 01:19:07 am Quote Err??
