Title: Important question - 3DO controller?
Post by: Captain_Archer on November 08, 2002, 05:07:42 pm
I first played this game on a 3DO pad, and when I tired it on the computer, it felt so wrong to me. Will it be possible to somehow use the 3DO pad, or at least a PC gamepad, such as a Microsoft sidewinder pad, instead of the keyboard?
If it's not planned for any close release, could this be possibly included in a future release?
I could make do with the keyboard, but I will really miss using a gamepad 8( I remember spending hours at night with the 3DO pad ( it was awesome because it had a headphone jack right on it! ) playing SC2.
    *sniff sniff*

PC gamepad/joystick support will be included (already has some code for it but its not fully functional yet).

How can you even play it with a pad? Even the thought is impossible to me.

I see weird people.  ;D

Well it's natural to us, because I at the least first played the game through 3 times with the 3DO controller. I cannot imagine using a keyboard to control a ship in combat LOL
I know one thing, I could destroy anyone who uses a Keyboard with my controller, I am 100% sure of that - keyboard is just too clunky.
Perhaps if I started with the PC version years ago, I would hate the controller as well. ^^

Sign me up for CONTROLLER.  This isn't Star Keyboard 2 here.

I first played Star Control on the Genesis.  After the fun I had there, I bought the Star Control Collection for five bucks or so thinking I'd get into the sequel everyone raves about.  Only it didn't work in Windoze, so I sat on it for a few years until I finally gave up and sold it on Ebay--for well over a hundred dollars.   :o

I had been toying with the idea of getting a 3do console pretty much just to play this game from the couch.  Looks like I'll be able to play it on my laptop instead.  I wish I could use a game controller now though.   :P

Keep up the good work guys!  Everything I see so far is great!   ;D

I know what you mean. I've always playied SCII on my old Tandy and for years I'd play it with a joystick and then one day it broke. Since it was an old computer I couldn't buy a new one, so I was stuck with the keyboard and it felt so weird for a long time.
