Title: probes...
Post by: Torch on July 16, 2005, 12:34:20 am
I've got info from Earth base commander that probes started multiplying fast and that there will be tons of them in about a year. 8 mohts have passed since that but I didn't noticed that there is too much of them.
So, will they really mulitply that much and should I start looking for their homeworld?

i cant remember the the rate of increase in the code, but it levels off and wont go any higher than that. you should go seek out their home world. if anything, there just an annoyance to you during space flight.

some people, however, find that they rather fight them for cash, instead of mining planets. its your choice. explore :)

I prefer fighting then mining, if you are like me and you start a new game. Leave the sol system, then re-enter that should keep the probes at a increased rate. Usually in a games year, i get 3 probes chasing me through non-hostile space. If you have some good ships, its easy hard cash. I'd just do this and mine some of the centauri and tauri worlds of exotics, then try the DRUUGE  FUEL TRICK  ;)

Well, if I can descover it normally, I mean if it is something that I'll have to find out in ored to win game, than no.
But if it really a trick (cheat) than yeah.

Well.. Don't bother with them, really... A few aliens know where to find their homeworld, and eventually you'll find out, really.. :) Just don't bother searching for it... It's well hidden... :P

Torch if you really want me to spoil this for you read this:

Go to arcturas, pick up burvixeses caster, now make sure you have atleast one escort. If you were smart you would go get melnorme to sell you high effec fuel tanks. Make all slots of your ship fuel tanks with one crew pod. Fill up about 100 fuel, drive all the way to Zeta Persei I. Make sure you have a escort like fwiffo because druuge will attack you if you are defenceless. Go sell them burvixese caster for all the fuel your ship can hold. You should have 1500 fuel if you bought all high effec fuel tanks. Now go back to starbase sell it all. Its a sh*tload of money.

the melnorme trick is way better,
First Find all the rainbow worlds(i know where to find them by heart now)
Make sure you have a 'castor at this point
Buy all melnorme technology with the credits from the rainbow worlds
then fill ALL of your slots with high eff fuel tanks(maybe a good idea to get rid of the probes first)
DO NOT fill those tanks at the starbase leave them empty
Then head out of the solar system into hyperspace
then "call" the melnorme with the 'castor and fill up all your tanks
go back to the starbase and sell all the fuel.

now its your decision what to do with the RU's

Ok, but I don't have castor yet. I guess it's story related and I have to get it at some point right?

Well you don't really NEED the burvixese caster, but it goes with story and you get money for it. If you go further into this you will find out how the kohr-ah locate races and how evil the insidioues druuge are. Its in Arturas, on its moon. Its a Isolated homestar so you should find it. I won't tell you were it is, thats your job.  ;D

Er.. it's considered polite to cloak that spoiler. Changing the text color to blue is usually considered acceptable around here.

As for the probes, the chance of one spawning will gradually increase, but will never exceed 8%.
