Title: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: JHGuitarFreak on August 01, 2005, 08:10:07 am okay so i have finally re-installed Uqm 0.4 on my computer and at first it wouldnt work, so i used my modified version i made awhile back, now it works but with wierd colors...
(http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/646/sc2fucked3la.jpg) now im just wondering why uqm wont work properly under Win XP home edition(english ;D) when it worked under windows 2000 professional perfectly? and i think its a sdl problem, maybe not. im gonna keep playing just to make sure this isnt a one time thing. Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: JHGuitarFreak on August 01, 2005, 08:21:59 am more bullshit

Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: Megagun on August 01, 2005, 01:16:14 pm You're using an old binary, with the new content, or a new binary, with old content.
Either update the content, or the binary... Oh. I get it.. You're using a modified binary, which is 0.3. It doesn't work with the new content which is 0.4 Get the 0.4 source, modify it again like you did for 0.3, and recompile it for 0.4 Then it works. Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: JHGuitarFreak on August 01, 2005, 01:20:52 pm ok i will tell you the problem with the original exe
it stops when i get here (http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/9533/error5gz.gif) Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: JHGuitarFreak on August 01, 2005, 01:24:43 pm You're using an old binary, with the new content, or a new binary, with old content. still the same shit messed around with the opengl and 32,24,16 options and still the same result, meh, i also have windows 98 on this comp it should work on there, now the only problem is testing uqm every time i modify the source :-\ in theory i could test it, but it will look shitty :-\ Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: Megagun on August 01, 2005, 02:35:31 pm Reinstall it completely.
You're probably using an old (0.3) content .uqm file... Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: Novus on August 01, 2005, 05:47:14 pm This is very odd, as UQM works fine for me in XP Home no matter what graphics settings I use. Are you quite sure you reinstalled UQM properly?
Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: JHGuitarFreak on August 02, 2005, 02:18:36 am i did a nice fresh clean install with all the uqm 0.4 content, i did this in the beginning
i installed the content packages myself, as i usually do. i'm just gonna use my win98 drive to play it and use winxp to test it no point in trying to get anything to work on my computer, once its screwed up it will stayed screwed up, even if i re-installed windows :-\ Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: JHGuitarFreak on August 02, 2005, 02:35:54 am got it to work now...
Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: Novus on August 02, 2005, 10:16:57 am got it to work now... Is that under 98, XP or both? And how?Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: JHGuitarFreak on August 03, 2005, 02:48:09 am i really dont know how i fixed it, i just uninstalled every uqm component and re-installed the same way i did before to see if i made any mistakes then it worked.
maybe it was just a couple faulty installations on my part. :) Title: Re: bullshit and wierd colors Post by: Megagun on August 03, 2005, 12:55:13 pm See? Old content files..
So, if anyone reads this later on through the Search feature (whoa! someone's using it!), just reinstall UQM/update .UQM files or the UQM.EXE file.... |
