Title: ack... help... i'm surrounded!
Post by: eggy on August 17, 2005, 07:17:10 pm
Hi guys... new here. Awesome project! It's my first time playing SC2, believe it or not. Found it through underdogs, and quickly moved to UQM :)
I just finished off the lone Kohr-Ah ship orbiting Alpha Tucanae and it is Feb 05, 2156. As soon as I leave for hyperspace... I am surrounded by Ur-Quan and Kohr-Ah fleets, some 5 or 6 of them! Is this normal?
I suck at combat... and it seems a bit early in the game for me to face 20+ ships in a row :)
It must be an unfortunate coincidence. I've tried waiting for upwards of 10 days to see if the surrounding hyperspace cleared up a little. They're packed so tightly, there's no escape!
Would anyone like to see my savefile or something? :)

Usually in a situation like that the best escape route is to hammer your 2nd button when you come out of hyperspace and try to activate the quasispace portal spawner and then retreat to safe space to regroup.

When you're in a solar system, the ships in HyperSpace don't move. So if you're surrounded when you go in, you'll be surrounded when you come out. If there are lots of them, it's better to get a bit of distance before entering a solar system in the first place.

Thanks guys... I guess I'm going to try reloading an older save and going through this part of the game again.
