Title: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: kelar on September 18, 2005, 03:33:04 pm When you explore planets, theres a meter on your right side thats marked "DAT". If you kill biological lifeforms that meter fills up. What is "DAT" and what is it good for?
Also... I killed that Shofixti Tanaka early on in the game, not knowing how to escape a fight. I just dont have the energy to start over, so is there a way to complete that mission anyway? Any coordinates to another one of his species? Oh, btw. I cant seem to find the solar system where the red probes are coming from? Ive checked all systems between the zaq-fot-pik and Epsilon Muscae, but they are nowhere to be found. Any coordinates? Any coordinates to another one of his species? There will be another one, in the same location, when you've done the other part of this quest. That is your last chance though. The quest btw, is not required to finish the game (but it will give you an advantage).Quote Oh, btw. I cant seem to find the solar system where the red probes are coming from? Ive checked all systems between the zaq-fot-pik and Epsilon Muscae, but they are nowhere to be found. Any coordinates? You'll come across more clues.Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: kelar on September 18, 2005, 07:44:37 pm Thanks a lot mate. I felt so guilty killing all those lifeforms. Now i can do it with a clean conscience :)
Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: meep-eep on September 18, 2005, 08:32:08 pm You're not killing them. The lander weapon is a "stunray bolt-beamer gun".
Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: kelar on September 18, 2005, 08:43:48 pm Oh, silly me. I should read up on the different specs of the weapons before i speak ;)
Another thing.. Are there any other keys being used than Esc, arrows, enter, shift and F1? The damn thing doesnt have a control setup. Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: meep-eep on September 18, 2005, 09:07:54 pm F10 is exit. Keypad + and - zoom in and out on the starmap.
The game comes with a manual text file btw. Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: asimpkins on September 19, 2005, 05:35:27 pm Oh, btw. I cant seem to find the solar system where the red probes are coming from? Ive checked all systems between the zaq-fot-pik and Epsilon Muscae, but they are nowhere to be found. Any coordinates? I had the same problem. Notice they never say it's BETWEEN these two stars, only that it lies on a line created by these two stars -- and lines extended forever in both directions. Here's the dialogue bit again: Quote By back-tracing the probes' course paths we have been able to calculate that the source of the probes is somewhere on a direct line that includes our star, and Epsilon Muscae. Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: kelar on September 19, 2005, 06:44:49 pm Thank you once again.
Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: Zeep-Eeep on September 21, 2005, 07:48:21 pm You're not killing them. The lander weapon is a "stunray bolt-beamer gun". So instead of killing them, you're taking slaves. This is much nicer. Title: Re: Exploring planets and Tanaka Post by: Kaiser II on September 22, 2005, 06:09:41 am Not quite. They're just animals. =P
