Title: Zog-Fot-Pik are gone what to do!

Hi,

A couple game months ago, the starbase leader said that the Zog-Fot-Pik sent a distress call, but instead of running to their rescue I did some more resource gathering.  When I came back he said that they were gone, and I went to their homeworld and there were the green bad guys everywhere.

My question is, is it to late to save them?  Should I load up an older save game? Don't "spoil" me too much, I just want to know if it would have been different had I gone to their rescue earlier, and if they  have been destroyed.  Those Ur-Quan guys are pretty tough and there's a lot of them at their homeworld.

You could have rescued them, but it's too late now. You can still finish the game though.
The green Ur-Quan are not the ones that killed the ZFP though.

Do I get a different ending if I save more people?

Is there any reason to save more people?

The people you save affect the rest of the game; obviously, dead guys can't help you (or cause problems). You can get some quite big plot effects if lots of people start dying. The (victorious) end sequence is always the same. However, your previous actions can affect even the final battle noticeably.

That being said, you don't lose points, get scolded or
lose the game based on races dying off. While it's
nice to save as many as you can, it isn't a requirement.

I would, however, suggest having a Pkunk Fury or two on board for the Sa Matra battle. It's fun finishing it with a Druuge also. Otherwise, use an Utwig or a couple of Chmmrs, but using any other ship gives a remote chance of winning.

So even if you let the Pkunk suicide, keep a few of their ships towards the end!!
