Title: Lander Turn Speed
Post by: taltamir on November 21, 2005, 05:56:28 am
The lander turns WAY to slow... especially when compared with the original PC game.
This becomes more pronounced when you get the maelnom's speed upgrade, as it only seems to increase forward thrust for your lander, but not the turn speed.

1. Is there a later technology from the maelnorm that increases turn speed on the lander in this version (that wasn't in the original PC version)
2. Is there a way for me to hack some scripts to increase the turn speed.
3. I think it should be modified somewhat in future versions of UQM.

I can't say I noticed a speed difference between the old PC version and
UQM. I've got copies of both my my machine and they appear to
run about the same.
If you want, there is proabably a line of code you can
adjust to speed up the lander. Though I'm not sure
just which line that would be.

i am refering specifically to turning speed. The forward thurst is about the same, but on the old PC version the turn speed was almost instantanous, while on the UQM its very very slow.

I have both aswell, and just compared.

Anyways, I am indeed certain there is some lines of code that can be manipulated for it, the question is, which! Can anyone inform me please?

In src/sc2code/planets/lander.c, increase SHUTTLE_TURN_WAIT at line 1606 (in current CVS).
