Title: No voice acting at the end?
Post by: LoreAlmighty on November 23, 2005, 10:17:32 am
What's the deal?  Too lazy, or is that scene taken from the PC version?  It's just weird they'd give up voice acting at the end, especially since the dialouge is so funny.

The ending dialogue was only in the PC version of the game (which didn't have voices)..

When they did the 3DO version of the game (WITH the voices) they.... simply forgot about the ending dialogues, and didn't record any voices for it...

UQM adds them, though, because they're damn good..

How come the 3DO CGI stuff wasn't added to the Ur-Quan Masters?  I mean this is a port of the 3do version.  But I do like the cartoon cinemas stil.

3DO CGI stuff? I guess you mean the intro and outro CGI movies..
Well, unfortuantely, not everyone is as nice as Toys For Bob, and not everyone likes people using their stuff in an opensource, freeware game.. Copyright issues, yes... Everything from the 3DO SC2 belongs to TFB, except for the intro and outro movies...

So they belong to Accolade?

I'm fairly certain that they don't, but that they instead belong to the guys that made them.. Not sure, though, someone else might know this stuff better than me..

I don't know whether the people who made the movies still hold any rights (we haven't asked), but I expect that the movies were made on behest of Crystal Dynamics (now part of Eidos, now part of SCi).

But how can I find the .ogg?
It's in the 3DO music package. See the content management (http://uqm.stack.nl/wiki/Content_Management) page for details.
