Title: My goodness... My pkunk!
Post by: Cpt. Dinkleberg on December 06, 2005, 08:04:58 am
I loved to fight the Sa-Matra over and over again, I just keep loading games. Then, I was using a Pkunk Fury and it rebirthed 9 continuous times!!! I defeated the Sa-Matra (for the 101th time) with 1 single Fury! Muahahahaha!

Yep I just said 10 times, but actually it was more like 11 or 12 (I can’t remember the actual count).  :o

My brother and I would play each other in hyper melee I played with the pkunk most of the time while he played khor-ah. I managed to wipe out his entire fleet with 2 or 3 pkunk the last one dies that many times. After that I was no longer allowed to play the pkunk (He was certain I was cheating some how).

I don't think I ever needed to reborn my pkunk to finish the Sa Matra

seriously, it's the easiest ship to win against it

and (personally) the Druuge is the most fun :) sniping those red targets  ::)

An Awesome computer had resurrected at least 17-20 times once ;(

Needless to say it destroyed my entire fleet, made me angry and caused me to say the computer officially cheats :P. Good job it was super melee huh?

I'll echo the above comments and say the Sa-Matra is pretty easy to defeat with the Pkunk Fury, but I much prefer the raw power of the Utwig Juggernaut, as it is effectively immune to all of the Sa-Matra's attacks, can wipe out the shield generators in only a few volleys of fire, and can easily take out any remaining fireballs/green floaty things while taking zero damage in return.

Another fun ship to use to take down the shield generators is the Ariloulaleelay Skiff; fly in, zap a few times and teleport out.  Rinse. Repeat.  Getting rid of fireballs and green floaters after the shields are down is a lot trickier, however (this is also an issue for the Pkunk Fury).

One or two times for me. But if I play against a friend they have 20 reborns minimum ( my cousin had 28 reborns once. Luckily, he sucks with the fury ).

I always play super-melee with my little brother, I use pkunks, supoxes and orz nemesis's. while he uses kzer-zas, kohr-ahs and chmmr avatars which is totally unfair... What's the difference between hypermelee or supermelee anyway?

  • Star Control 1 has Melee.
  • Star Control 2 has Super Melee.
  • Star Control 3 has Hyper Melee.
I wonder what SC4 would have had? :)

If accolade made the forth star control I would imagine it would have been:
3D Melee.

Quasi-Melee. Which means it's not really melee, but it looks a lot like it...

Meta-Melee

It is a battle between Melee, Supermelee, and Hypermelee!

Bah, I think I'll download Timewarp and be done with it. I wish they had recorded voice for the end sequence though!
