The Kohr-Ah/human hybrid experiment began with the selection of two gene donors, Death_999 and a human female whose name is not readily represented in our Ur-Quan language.
In Mid-may, the experiment will enter phase 3: removal of the hybrid from its egg,
and proceed to phase 4: evaluation of its viability over the long term.

Initial scans suggest that the resulting creature is female.

Oh, I love experiments! Hybrids are so nice! Wonder how she will look, though. There's quite a difference in....biologial structure between the two donors.

And, please check if you Kohr-Ah make an exception to half-filth. Wouldn't want your little hybrid to commit suicide cause she thinks that's the right thing to do. (Then again, I am filth, so what I say is not so important. ;))

'Merideath' (a temporary designation which for some reason is not preferred by the egg donor) will certainly be learning all relevant piloting skills.

As for phase 5, she will be constrained to the options within the institute, but that does leave quite a variety, ranging from the Kohr-Ah/Thraddash to the Kzer-za/Pkunk hybrid. Of course, the Druuge/Kzer-za may be the most attractive combination, due to the improved posture and sniffling-elimination granted by lacking a nose; but she may have to fight for him with the Syreen/Kohr-Ah hybrid.

I didn't yet have a mechanical replacement for the talking pet I slew after the confusion with the Dnyarri. But with the Once-and-for-all doctrine in place, of eliminating all alien races by making all alien races into Ur-Quan, mere communication difficulties were considered unimportant next to implementation of the doctrine.

mmm... isnt an Ur quan a giant centepede like creature? the part we see is ONLY the head... And its huge as it is... Those tentacles aren't their appendages, they are just sensory organs on their face and fine manipulators. (think prehensile whiskers).

I cannot fathom how the mix would look like, or why would the Ur Quan even want to make one... but the notion definatly has a cool factor to it.

The thing is though... a centepede body and a humanoid body would just not mix... any combination that includes traits of both simply would not work.

This is my halloween costume. I put it on when I was posted to a tidally-locked world, so it's STILL halloween.

Phase 3 is complete. Phase 4 is proceeding. There are no indications of inviability. The hybrid is unexpectedly strong.
