There are several ways to override the music:
  • Add Ogg Vorbis (http://www.vorbis.com/) or MOD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOD_%28file_format%29) files to the content directory with paths corresponding to the files in the main or 3DO music ZIP you want to override. Quick and dirty.
  • Construct an addon package (a ZIP) containing the replacement music (in the same way as the original content package). This is the technique used by the Precursors (http://www.medievalfuture.com/precursors/) for their remix packs and the most flexible solution.
  • Replace the files in the content ZIP directly. Not a good idea if the main content changes.
See the UQM content management (http://uqm.stack.nl/wiki/Content_Management) page on the wiki for details.
