Title: Paul/Fred games Post by: Quetzalcoatl on November 12, 2002, 05:42:27 pm I was just looking through all the TFB/UQM stuff, and I had a revelation: I have been playing (and loving) games made by Paul Reiche and Ken Ford for a lot of my life. Is it Ken Ford, or is it Fred Frumpkin or something? Well, whatever (Yes, I suck with names :) ) The point is, I've been playing their stuff for about 18 years now, since I was like 4 or 5. In fact, my first gaming moment that I can ever remember was watching my dad and uncle playing Archon on our good ol' Commodore 64, trying to figure out what the hell a Djinni was. But then there was Mail Order Monsters, which me and my brother played quite a bit over the years, a couple unmentionables, and then the best of all: Star Control 2, the game of games. These guys have definately taken that whole top-down-2d-view-type thing to the maximum extreme level of awesome gaming over the years. Just think what may happen when they add.. *gasp* a THIRD dimension!!
Hmm.. Actually, I guess the Horde would be what happens.. Oh well. Anyways, this rambling post was basically meant just to say thanks to those guys if they ever happen to peruse this board (I have heard they are the main force in TFB, yes?) and please, keep up the good work!! Title: Re: Paul/Fred games Post by: Francisco on November 13, 2002, 05:33:48 am Well, as far as names go (you should work on getting better with names :( (shakes finger)) It's Paul Reiche III, Fred Ford and his brother Ken Ford. You must pay homage to them and their company by going to this page: http://home.att.ne.jp/wave/rainbow/Toys_for_Bob/biography_E.htm (from Yukki's great Toys for Bob fansite)
C'mon kids! It's get to know the creators day! These are real people just like you and me, and since you love their games, give a little respect and get to know 'em a little better. ;D Title: Re: Paul/Fred games Post by: Azarule on November 13, 2002, 05:46:09 am Okay, I have logged the following people into the category of "people I would grab if we were on a sinking ship that was not the Titanic because I hated that movie" :
