Restoration project: 1983 VW Passat/Quantum 1600. Chassis sound, body sound, rest of car one step away from FUBAR - particularly mechanically. Used to belong to my sister. I am tempted to tell my parents that the car is now mine, in order to restore it to its original glory. What I drive right now is a random Audi, so this is only a hobby or something. Decided to, uh, 'alter' it slightly instead of mere restoring. the body will be sandblasted and dipped next week. also trying to source a quattro 4wd drivetrain for it (after much consultation over a nice dry white with my partner last night).
