Title: Folks playing SC....and liking it Post by: Cedric6014 on March 22, 2007, 08:30:53 am Here's something interesting I stumbled across during one of my irregluar starcon google searches.
http://boards.1up.com/zd/board/message?board.id=show&message.id=93574 (http://boards.1up.com/zd/board/message?board.id=show&message.id=93574) Read this if you want to rekindle the memories of what it was like to discover and play SC for the first time. This link will take you through to a bulletin board where a bunch of guys (and gals) play the game for the first time and share their experiences and excitement. Worth a read if you're as hopelessly notstalgic as i am - AND I KNOW MOST OF YOUR ARE! there's 9 pages. Oh and i'll add this this read is an excellent arguement for fixing the blasted Mycon problem. the frustrations of those attempting to finish the game without help are quite evident Title: Re: Folks playing SC....and liking it Post by: AngusThermopyle on March 22, 2007, 02:44:12 pm This was a good find and it's good to know people are still discovering the game. Heh, I can still remember my dread from entering 'Androysnth space' for the first time only find someone else had moved in...
One of them even mentioned signing the petition! Slightly off-topic, but an UQM Manual project is underway. So far, the "Adventure" section is nearly complete. Hopefully, when finished, this could help new players like the guy who mentioned "How do I load a game?" I think I vastly underestimated the appeal of this game, both in it's DOS days and now.
This also adds another call for randomization of the game. Make it new every time! :) And what's the deal with this manual project? -Kwamp |
