Even if the last name is a reference to the Crystal Dynamics CEO, it makes more sense if the captain has a different first name, anyway. You could leave "Strauss" in as an embarrassing middle name (after his great-great-great-great-grandfather or some closer ancestor named after him) or something, if you want to keep the Zelnick family reference intact.
