Of course the 3DO videos look prettier etc., but the slides are more in SC2 style, don't you think? The same hand-drawn kind of graphics, way better than the "photorealistic" thingies.
Also, slides give one an unmatched feeling of immersion, and the text and the silence make you feel the very void and mystery of space. However, the ending video looks a bit silly when you knock out everything on the Sa-Matra, dock your flagship without any resistance, and then, suddenly, in the video, you're under heavy fire. Also, the ending video degenerates into a (flickery) slideshow for part of its duration.
