Title: OMG hyper speed in melee! (impact issues)
Post by: Sargon on April 13, 2007, 03:00:34 pm
Hello,
Somethng funny happend to me in the melee battle.
I played spati against pkunk.
Then I tried to impact between them and one of the spati spheres got stuck in between the double wing of the pkunk.
The two ships were stuck and jittering together and I couldnt release them for a while, then they suddenly disconnected and the flew in a super fast speed, any faster then I have ever seen.
That was funny.

Ha ha ha... so bad you couldn't record the entire incident.
Yes, we need a replay BADLY for UQM 0.7.0 (or be it 0.8.0).

Indeed, these stuck-and-release incidents are common amongst Chmmr and Spathi.
A lot of them happened to me in the PC original. Many with the Chmmr... I can't remember which ship I was using against the Chmmr. (note that Blazers, Skiffs and Probes are inertialess and therefore cannot suffer such physical abominations (I wonder what exactly in the source code causes them?).

What program can record such video?
Or do you mean that the game has a battle recording option?

Several people here use Fraps (http://www.fraps.com/).

No, but one has been suggested many times here. With the netplay option, implementing a record option probably wouldn't been too hard, either.
