Title: Installation/Download problem.. Post by: big flu on April 29, 2007, 06:04:06 am This is after I have downloaded the installation .exe. Well when it installs as we know it connects to the internet to do so. Well it gets about 92% done and then TIMED OUT. I tried it twice and it got to the same place and just died, with an error popping up saying something like "the connection has timed out, you can still play the game but some content will not be available to you". why is it timing out all the time? i can still play the game fine and am having fun with it but If I'm missing some major content I don't want to keep playing without it. If the content I am missing is insignificant then I don't care. Any help is appreciated

Post by: big flu on April 29, 2007, 07:47:50 am sorry If I missed the edit post button, I didnt see one. anyway, i figured this much out, the time out is coming when I try to download the voice add-on. It gets to a certain point then dies. The other 3 mirrors on the site don't work either, so can someone upload the voice add-on pack to rapidshare? I just need a stable server to grab the voice addon from
Title: Re: Installation/Download problem.. Post by: Novus on April 29, 2007, 11:34:57 am The UQM download page (http://sc2.sourceforge.net/downloads.php) lists dozens of mirrors; just choose one and download the voice package using whatever browser or download manager takes your fancy. You can then add the voice package to your UQM installation simply by putting it in the right directory (http://uqm.stack.nl/wiki/Content_Management).
If every mirror times out at the same place, there's probably something wrong at your end. Title: Re: Installation/Download problem.. Post by: big flu on May 02, 2007, 09:14:16 am they didnt all time out at the same place, but they all timed out after awhile. it was definitely on my end, but what was weird is that no matter what site it was hosted on that file did not want to come in. i tried having someone upload it to megaupload and it still didnt work. eventually i fixed it by using a download manager that allowed resuming of downloads. it still timed out about 3 times but eventually it finished. weird

I suspect using a download manager with resume support is the best you can do; complaining to your Internet service provider may or may not help.Title: Re: Installation/Download problem.. Post by: countchocula86 on May 02, 2007, 04:54:12 pm That sometimes happens to me when my internet connection is really really slow, after a while it just gives up on downloads.
