Good rendering...speaking of the Spathi they are on the warpath for me...it shocked me when I did it, still shocks me...

In my last 2 matches, Chmmr vs Spathi (me piloting the Spathi), I'm 2-0 against the Computer.

What, were you playing this against the SC3 AI?

I guess you used the main gun, didn't you? That's the only way to have an effect...

Oh, by all means, go ahead and post it wherever.. I can give you larger, more detailed, copies of it.   Maybe I'll make an Ur-Quan Kzer-Za and have them fight or something later on.. Or, just have him riding on the hull of a "eluder dreadnaught" screaming and blasting hot plasma death into the heavens.

I never played a day of SC3 in my life...this is SC2...

Yes the main gun until I took out one of the satellites then the BUTT to finish them off (time it right, it goes in untouched).

How is that possible? I thought the Spathi couldn't even damage the Chmmr because of the zap-sats...

They can with the main gun - the key is you have to send a full load at it (it's fast enough that the zapsats can't block it all) - sometimes the zapsats do block it, sometimes one or two will hit the main ship....as I eluded to earlier it's more likely that you'll take out one of the zapsats....when you do that, it finishes out pretty quickly since as was said, you can lace the BUTTs in untouched if you time them right.

Only problem is it's a long enough battle to be boring as hell - more or less just actually did the fight because I wanted to see if I could do it.  My guess is this takes 5-10 minutes.  And it does take away about 12-15 of my crew because of the planet, getting hit by the zapsats, etc. from flying too close.  I'm 4-1 now (the loss because I had 9 crew left when I met the Chmmr that time - at least I did get the Chmmr down enough that I could fly my Shofixti in and blow up the Chmmr :-) )  Probably won't purposely try in the future, since it's so damned boring.

If you're wondering, I fly in close enough so it doesn't tractor, but fly in circles around it, fire while I keep moving in the circle.  Works for the Spathi, works for the Yehat (usually it's a very one sided battle for him), and works for the ZoqFotTurd (I'm 1-0 now actually trying with that ship - there's more shot so the Chmmr gets hurt quicker).

Figuring it out enough - more time and I might punk the Chmmr out with everything that's capable enough to do it ;-D

Done Chad.  an 800x600 version of the Spathi and my SCII hyper melee remix in fasttracker format.

I'll probably work on some ships or something next.. If anyone has a request, I can see about making it.

Does it count if the chmmr just sits there? It's very nearly as difficult...

I tried it.....Failed it...The Computer pulled some stunts and tactics on me...Maybe I should lower the skill level for them........ Heh.

In otherwords, If I can get it to work, it'll be a long long time..maybe a forever fight...Heh.

I never said you CONSISTENTLY fly in that circle...if Chmmr tries something you bug out and start again...90% of the battle is playing keep-away since his range is so small.  I never said it was a completely easy battle, just a possible one.

I was able to do this (in SC3, but the ships are effectively identical) by coming in on a deflected approach, then swinging away. I never tried going around, but I did make sure that I always had a bit of angular momentum in respect to the avatar to help me escape.

By that I mean, never charge straight at it. Charge at an angle, lean in to shoot, then swing out and flee.

Rinse and repeat.

The thing is, it's NOT an easy battle. It's one of those old fashion lines: ''Haha! I have the advantage and now you're mine!''

Cause simply, The AI on the Awesome or Good(Sometimes) skill won't just sit there and let you hit and run them.

They WILL find a way to get to you..... ;/

It's simply easy for them cause all they have to do is just rake you into them with their devices(Forgot the name) or pull some tactic and BAM, you're dead.

I stand a better chance fighting a Chmmr with a Ur-Quan Dreadnought or Kohr-Ah ship.
