Title: Thank you! Post by: low-fi on August 15, 2007, 10:11:34 am Hello.
I had heard some great things about The Ur-Quan Masters for a long time, but managed to play it for the first time at early this year. At first I really hated the combat system (I thought it to be too damn quirky to be any fun) so I stopped playing for a few months. Then something suddenly hit me and I started practicing in Super Melee mode, and after a few hours of practing, I decided I was OK enough to play the campaign seriously. And after dozens of hours of playing, I finally beat it for the first time! (I had to consult a FAQ for a few times because I was aware of the time limit and started to get a bit nervous.) I just have to say that The Ur-Quan Masters is probably the best game I have played on any platform. And I have played a LOTS of games! It seems to combine the best elements of adventure, action and strategy games and has a really great story and atmosphere, which are probably the main factors that make games stand the test of time. The music is excellent, too! I want to thank everyone involved in porting Star Control II for modern operating systems. I just signed the petition and hope that PR3 and FF will make a proper sequel some day. Title: Re: Thank you! Post by: Amiga_Nut on August 15, 2007, 03:13:06 pm Sweet! You know what would rock? If we were to put that thing in a little chat window at the front page of the forum.Title: Re: Thank you! Post by: Earwax5 on August 19, 2007, 03:36:30 am I'd also like to thank all of you who put effort into porting this game. I never played the PC version, but i'm the only person I know that had a 3DO and I was lucky enough to have that version. It was bastard hard back then too. I've beaten the game a couple times now and it's all because you guys did such an excellent job. You guys are the best. |
