Title: Fun With Household Items Post by: Dancing Fungus on October 24, 2007, 10:20:04 pm Well, I've built a small transmission system from all the old junk in my house. So far I've used it to try and get the Kzer-za and the Kohr-ah to be friends. But all that happened was that I got several death threats, the Kohr-ah started a a heated argument with the Kzer-za on all that Doctrine crap, and finally my hyperwave caster broke. [I hate that thing; it always breaks when I'm in the middle of something]
Next I'm going to try and translate the Orz language, scare the Spathi, and find a fun way to piss off the Vux. (http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd103/Dancing_Fungus/TV.jpg) This was right before their big debate on enslaving/killing things for fun. Title: The Slylandro Get A New Look Post by: Dancing Fungus on November 05, 2007, 05:28:22 pm Meet Catalog Item #2418-c!
Here is the new and friendly version of the Slylandro probe. This robot really does come in peace, and all it wants is love. [after it breaks you down into your component elements] This next picture is so stupid that some people might find it amusing. If you want me to stop, I will. Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Shiver on November 07, 2007, 02:57:51 am It's not really hurting anything. I just felt like using Photoshop.
Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Dancing Fungus on November 07, 2007, 04:41:25 pm Yeah, I'd use Photoshop too, but I don't have the money for fancy crap like that. All I've got is Paint. Not exactly the best thing out there.

Not exactly the best thing out there. For web graphics, GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) might even be a better choice than Photoshop. It's cheaper in any case.Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: AngusThermopyle on November 07, 2007, 06:39:59 pm For web graphics, GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) might even be a better choice than Photoshop. I haven't tried anything too advanced with it or anything, but it's definitely an upgrade over Paint.Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Dancing Fungus on November 09, 2007, 04:31:33 pm Well, GIMP is finally up and running on my machine. Installing it was a royal pain in the ass [it claimed it was corrupt at least a dozen times, plus other error messages], but it seems to work now. It might take me a while to get accustomed to using it, but I should be back spewing out bizarre images soon enough.
Oh yes, why the hell doesn't your post-an-image placement feature ever seem to work for me? Every time I've tried to put up an image, it doesn't do anything. I'm stuck with this stupid link system: http://bp1.blogger.com/_EFCH-Ii3_j8/RzSD3vMB9RI/AAAAAAAAACQ/T6IqRY4JOCg/s1600-h/Fatmouse.jpg (http://bp1.blogger.com/_EFCH-Ii3_j8/RzSD3vMB9RI/AAAAAAAAACQ/T6IqRY4JOCg/s1600-h/Fatmouse.jpg) By the way, that's my latest in a series of pictures I call "Freaks". It originally started off as a Paint project, but now I'm starting to process them through GIMP. Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: meep-eep on November 09, 2007, 09:48:45 pm What post-an-image placement feature?

Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Dancing Fungus on November 09, 2007, 10:41:52 pm I am going to dismiss the incredibly rude image from the UQM resident asshole with the follwing: FUCK OFF, JERK!!!!!! I will not tolerate your infantile pictograph-based language.
Now, as for Meep's question, I'm talking about the way you insert an image into a post, like OxDecode just did to piss me off. I know which button does it, and it gives me this option: img img [with parentheses and a slash] I have tried putting the image's address in the middle of the imgs [like the url feature], but the picture never showed up. Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: 0xDEC0DE on November 09, 2007, 11:18:11 pm I am going to dismiss the incredibly rude image from the UQM resident asshole with the follwing: FUCK OFF, JERK!!!!!! I will not tolerate your infantile pictograph-based language. (http://www.submedia.net/~nic/images/emokitteh.jpg) The irony of someone getting upset about an inline image being posted in response to asking how to post inline images is so very, very delicious. Mmm, how I enjoy the taste of sweet, sweet irony... Hint: Hit "Quote" and it will open a page with the codes I used to post this message in a reply window. Then you can see what it is you need to do. How amazingly rude and unhelpful, I should be ashamed of myself! I have tried putting the image's address in the middle of the imgs [like the url feature], but the picture never showed up. Odds are good that your image host doesn't allow direct-linking to images on their site, or you're not using the right URL to point at them. You may want to switch imagehosts if the former is the case, Photobucket (http://www.photobucket.com) and Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) are notoriously friendly towards what it is you're trying to do.Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Anthony on November 10, 2007, 04:26:34 am This reminds me of the Star Control photoshop thread I started a very long time ago.

1. It conveys no obvious help 2. It implies that I type as well as an animal that lacks opposable thumbs, long, unclustered fingers, and the intelligence/knowledge necessary to use a computer. That said, the "hint" you gave me doesn't work. Error message as follows: An Error Has Occurred! Unable to load the 'quotefast' template. I have yet to try the other stuff at the time of this post, but I"ll get to it as soon as possible. [in other words, some time around noon] You seem to really like cats, don't you? Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Koowluh on November 12, 2007, 04:49:13 pm Let me give it a try with an age old picture:
(http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/3786/dogmaxc5.th.gif) Hmm, imageshack doesn't seem to do direct linking anymore.. oh well, this'll work too. EDIT: if you use the quote button Dancing, you'll see that both 0x and I used nothing more than the image tags starting with "[img]". Of course, the site where you'll be offloading your pictures need to support direct linking... Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Dancing Fungus on November 12, 2007, 06:23:11 pm Beginning testing sequence.........standby............. Do you see my picture? Because I sure do. But it might just be my imagination. Thanks to you all for the help. Now I will let loose the freaks of war! Title: Re: Fun With Household Items Post by: Koowluh on November 13, 2007, 12:19:07 pm I have created a monster.
