I'll try to remember to upload a savegame with this later today, but here's the details.

Win2K SP3 (or thereabouts)
.12/.2 version downloaded from forums
Content updates downloaded from forums

Saved game at Sol.  Then went to Umgah to get the Talking Pet.  At this point the only thing left to do was the Talking Pet and freeing the Chmmr, then onto the Sa Matra.  Ok, so go to Beta Orionis or wherever, blow up the Umgah, get the pet.  Talk to Umgah again, get reward, have them give me ships and try to kill me.  Wipe out some ships that were useless (Arilou, Umgah, Earthling) in preparation for final battle--since there's no other way to sell or remove your ships?  Then escape with main ship.  Leave the star system, portal out to near Sol, go into Sol.

Now no Umgah in Sol.  Sitting there, go to Devices and talk to Talking Pet.  Ask about his... flowers.  Then back to navigation screen and there's a bunch of Umgah in Sol that appeared out of nowhere and are heading towards me?!@

It's like they got ripped out of Beta Orionis after talking to the pet and transported to Sol.  Trying to contact the ships results in a freeze.  I then saved the game.  My memory is hazy but I think once I left the starbase the Umgah were still in Sol.  I did the Chmmr stuff and they transported me back to Sol, the Umgah were now gone.

Odd, eh?

I believe I have the savegame after they were already in Sol.

Blast it, sorry, I forgot.  I'll get the savegame up tonight.

fyi, you can sell ships by going to the shipyard, selecting "fleet," and reducing the crew of a ship to 0.

I have comfirmed this bug, when you defeated the "Talking Pet" at Beta Orionis and afterwards visited the Umgah for the "Reward". When you fleed out back to Sol and used the Talking Pet to compel you to talk about "flowers". Suddenly afterwards the same Umgah fleet at Beta Orionis appears and chases you and when you run into them the game simplys crashes out completely....
