I'm windows user and i don't have speech/voice. What's the problem? My PC is rather new so it's not the problem (i think) I got the newest version of UQM. When i go to setup (first time i open the UQM) and to the sound panel, everything seems to be OK. All is 100. But when i go to the game, there is no speech. After that, the speech has dropped to 0 when looking the options. Whats the matter? ??? The "stderr" Says that: Initializing SDL audio subsystem. SDL audio subsystem initialized. Opening SDL audio device. using dsound at 44100 Hz 16 bit stereo, 4096 samples audio buffer Initializing mixer. Mixer initialized. Initializing sound decoders. Sound decoders initialized. In the end there are two Warnings: Warning: Can't open 'lbm/mainmenu.ogg' 'lbm/newgame.ani' -- 177 bytes Warning: Can't open 'lbm/mainmenu.ogg' 'lbm/newgame.ani' -- 177 bytes Everything else in game seems to be okey, but the speech... Can you check for the presence of the speech pack in your UQM install directory; it should be called uqm-0.6.0-voice.uqm and be in C:\Program Files\The Ur-Quan Masters\content\packages on a default install. If this file is missing (you should have at least the base content package there, or nothing would be working), download it from here (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sc2/uqm-0.6.0-voice.uqm?download) and put it there.

There were all other packages but not the speech... That is rather strange 'cause i think that i installed all optional parts. Excluded the remixes. They were the speech packages? Anyway... Sounds like you either excluded the voice package instead of (or in addition to) the remixes by mistake or some freak accident messed up the download.
