Title: Re: The Man's Version Of Robotech Post by: Arne on December 17, 2007, 08:11:40 pm Aka. Macross, I think. The source of the Valkyrie VF design. It's a somewhat contemporary looking jetplane which morphs into a biped mecha, kinda Mmrnmhrm on steroids.
Also, you might recognize the Zentradi ships. It's the organic ones seen at the top of this page: http://www.merzo.net/ Title: Re: The Man's Version Of Robotech Post by: guesst on January 03, 2008, 04:52:21 pm Thanks for this. i recently revisited Macross, looking for just the DVDs of them I found a whole series that I just don't want to take the time to watch, and then robotech is a part of the series too? this recap is very welcome.
Title: Re: The Man's Version Of Robotech Post by: Razorback on January 07, 2008, 02:47:14 pm Robotech/Macross is interesting. You basically have the same anime, but with two different scripts. Robotech was the American version that included differences like protoculture. If I remember right, the Japanese scripts don't mention it al all, it was an American plot device. There are other differences, one of these days I'm going to watch both series next to each other and note them down (if it already hasn't been done out there in the internets already).
