Title: Super Melee or single player mode
Post by: warnerd on January 07, 2008, 09:08:13 pm
I remember playing super melee for hours upon hours with a good friend and how fun it was. Thank God, this game lives on. I look forward to assisting in any way possible.

The super melee was the aspect of the game I loved the most.

WOOT!

Is the single player mode playable. I might give that a shot but I really didnt get into it that much. Maybe another go might get me stoked.

Is there a multiplayer capability to host a super melee server? That would be cool. To host 1 on 1 supermelee games with others.

My favorite ship was the one with the green limpets that would attach and slow a ship to a crawl. That was soooo funny to do to my opponent.

There is network SuperMelee, but it's not yet user-friendly to set up. But it's not hard, if you've done it once.
You might want to visit the #uqm-arena channel on the freenode.net IRC server. If you're not familiar with IRC, you can try it on http://uqm.stack.nl/irc/ (http://uqm.stack.nl/irc/) in your web browser.
Extensive information on network SuperMelee can be found here (http://uqm.stack.nl/wiki/Netplay).

The poll should tell you what is common knowledge around here: Even the most die-hard melee fanatics still see Star Control's story as its strongest attribute. Give the main game another chance.
