Post by: SweetSassyMolassy on June 06, 2008, 06:27:15 am So, recently I've been frequenting a few sites designed for beer connoisseurs, in particular beeradvocate.com. The common theme in every site is that the top hundred beers or so are all very dark lagers with ABV of 10 percent or higher. Sure, I like the occasional stout here and there, but most of these beers don't even sound that good. Drink them is comparable to eating a bagel or something. So, I'll give you my top ten beers in terms of taste, drinkability and price. Feel free to share any of your favorite brands. I'm always looking for more.

I'm lucky that I live near a package store that has a huge selection (most of which I still haven't tried). That being said, I enjoy the following brews:

In all seriousiness, I don't really drink much anymore, but I used to enjoy a Guiness every now and again. It's fun to drink something you could darn near walk on. McEwans's is in a spectrum all its own. Its super rich, slightly sweet and smooth. When you drink it, you get the distinct feeling that you could literally live off of this beer. The care and quality that goes into its production is obvious at first taste. I highly recommend you try it. 1.
