Title: the die hard way Post by: Son_of_Antares on September 26, 2008, 04:02:02 pm I was just wandering: is it possible to beat the combined Ur-Quan fleet (Marauders and Dreadnaughts) that is guarding the Sa-Matra at Delta Draconis with guns blazing etc (without the Dnyarri talking pet)? How many ships are there around the planet? I was blown out of the skies after sending 31 Ur-Quan vessels to their demise :P
Also, is it possible to conquer the homeworld of any race that has guardian fleet around their home planet (like Spathi, Zoq-Fot-Pik, Ilwrath, Mycon etc.)? And would such actions have any affect on the game? Title: Re: the die hard way Post by: Elerium on September 26, 2008, 04:07:37 pm The Sa-Matra guard has an infinite number of Ur-Quan/Kohr-Ah ships, you need the Talking Pet.
Also the homeworlds of each species also has an infinite number of planetary guards, you cannot defeat them unless they're crucial to the plot or their species are linked to the aftermaths of big galaxy events after which case you can visit said homeworlds. But if you come to the Sa-Matra itself, there will be an infinite number to fight there, unless you use the pet. You don't have to fight the entire ring to get to the Sa-Matra though; once you have entered in battle with one of the ships (even if you fled), there's a moment of "invulnerability" to new encounters.
