Title: Dark Fairy Games: My new game development team Post by: jaychant on February 27, 2009, 03:23:00 am (http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/3980/darkfairygamesfk8.png) (http://dark-fairy.co.nr/)
That's the logo. If you click on it it takes you to the website. Dark Fairy Games is a small team that I am forming who's purpose is pretty much just to make games. Sadly, I am having trouble finding someone who can do realistic sprites and is interested in joining. Anyways, while I wait for someone who can do the sprites, I am working on a space arcade game inspired by Star Control II. It will have a diverse selection of ships and the ability to create custom ships. Plus hopefully it will have AI that can actually put up a fight. I would very much appreciate it if you joined the forum. It would convince more people to join if there are already some people there. When you join, you just might laugh: Jaychant, the SCDB trouble-making delinquent of the past (Not of the present!), is going to make sure users adhere to these rules that I created (actually, I just added some new rules to this list based on the way I behaved in the SCDB): Quote - Do not try to bypass the word censoring. So for example, don't write "shi't", "@$$", "b!tch", or any similar things (this only applies to words that are actually censored). - Don't swear excessively. I was nice and only enabled word censoring for the F word. Don't make me add more words to the list. - Bumping your topics is not allowed, no exceptions. - Any message promoting or displaying racism or sexism is prohibited. Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another and sexism is the belief that one gender is superior to another. While it is your right to be racist or sexist, you are strictly prohibited from expressing these views in this forum. - Do not discuss religion or politics in any way, shape, or form. This includes suggesting a game based on religion or politics. For example, do not suggest a game involving Jesus, the Antichrist, the Devil, Allah, or any other god or demon. This rule also extends to ancient religions that don't exist anymore, such as the ancient Egyptian religion and ancient politics such as the ancient Mesopotamian civilization. Also, Atheism is to be considered a religious belief. The only exception to this rule is: you can mention your religious and political beliefs in your signature (but not argue them). - Do not post spam. Second offense will result in an immediate ban. - You may only have ONE account. Any more accounts will result in an immediate ban. - You are not to announce another user's personal information. Doing so will result in an immediate, permanent ban. - Do not annoy other users. I will not ban you permanently for this offense, but you will be banned if I get too many complaints about your behavior. And plus the rules that I didn't create: Quote The moderators of this forum will try hard to edit or remove reprehensible messages as soon as possible. However, it is impossible for them to review all the messages. You thus admit that all the messages posted on this forum express the sight and opinion of their respective authors and not those of the moderators or the Webmaster (except messages posted by them) and consequently, they cannot be held responsible of the discussions. Show the address of the site in question in order to respect the work of their administrators! - Please post your messages only once. The repetitions are unpleasant and useless! - Please make an effort on grammar and spelling. SMS-style language (ex: r u sk8ing?) is not advised! EDIT: Oh shit that was my 500th post. What an innocuous way to use it! Title: Re: Dark Fairy Games: My new game development team Post by: jaychant on February 27, 2009, 08:54:03 pm Hey you know that .nr is the internet country code for Nauru? EDIT: Oh shit that was my 500th post. What an innocuous way to use it! Well, co.nr is a free (redirect) domain. Actually, if you type "co.nr" into your address bar, you will arrive at the website. Nauru... Is that in Europe? The actual address of the website is dark-fairy.weebly.com, but I use the co.nr URL to make it look more professional and to be able to use a favicon (which Weebly doesn't seem to support). Nauru has the world's highest level of type 2 diabetes, with more than 40% of the population affected. Other significant diet-related problems on Nauru include renal failure and heart disease. Life expectancy in 2006 was 58.0 years for males and 65.0 years for females.
Fatties. Title: Re: Dark Fairy Games: My new game development team Post by: jaychant on February 27, 2009, 09:30:06 pm Nauru: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nauru Regardless, I like the co.nr domain. Besides, since Nauru isn't exactly a very well-known country, it doesn't make a difference. Title: Re: Dark Fairy Games: My new game development team Post by: meep-eep on February 27, 2009, 10:03:36 pm Just wait until they start asking money and everyone knows you at your .co.nr address.

Um, I'm not sure I understand your post. You mean, when FreeDomain.co.nr starts asking me for money because a lot of people are visiting my site? :-\ There is actually one thing I don't get: Weebly.com doesn't show you any larger number of viewers per day than 100 (or is it 300?), which is kind of small. Can anyone think of any more rules I should add to the DFG forum? Title: Re: Dark Fairy Games: My new game development team Post by: meep-eep on February 27, 2009, 10:52:39 pm It's not specific to you. It's a common business tactic. First give them something for free, then when you've got enough people using (and depending on) your services, charge them for continued use.
