Title: Rare Planets and Exotic Minerals
Post by: Captain Smith on January 26, 2003, 10:20:17 am
I wondered if anyone knew of anything about rare planets you would find, or planets you would find exotics on in any quantity (more than one spot).

Speaking of the rare planets, we know about the rainbow worlds, the two ruby worlds in Alpha Centauri, the shattered worlds, and the sapphire world the Chenjesu/Mmrnmhrm/Chmmr reside on...but are there any others?  I found an Emerald World on Eta Giclas IV that had 3 exotic items...

Anyone else have any locations of any interesting or out of the ordinary worlds?  Or worlds that have a lot of exotics?

In Un-Quan and Kor-ah space in one of the giant stars I forget which one there is a water world with no water on the surface of the planet and has life on it strangly enough..... BTW I notice something interest Emerald worlds are located only in green star systems.... Ruby worlds seemed to be located in Red, Orange star systems....

You could get a list of all the planets that hold Exotic minerals through the source code  ;D
I'd do it myself but I'm all into physics right now.. hehe

Just for good rules of thumb, the small white dwarf systems always seem to have a pretty good supply of mineral wealth.  Also, almost anything in Yehat space is a good bet.

Yeah, but it's in YEHAT SPACE.
Aside: What do YOU use against the terminator?

Can't you basicaly talk the Yehat out of attacking you every time?

I did it once and then left Yehat space; haven't tried to verify that you can do it every time.

Is this before or after you start the Yehat Rebellion?  Anyway, you can't do it everytime, as there are several different Yehat clans, and some will attack you and some won't.  There's no way to tell until you talk to them.

My weapon of choice against the Terminator is the dreaded Emergency Warp Device.

What I use against Terminators in a Starcon2 game...

Traddash usually works, Supox works if you give it time, Utwig works, Shofixti works (if you're real careful and patient, you can do it w/o using the glory device).

Let's just say though you won't get out of a fight with a Yehat w/o some losses - there's a reason they haven't lost a real fight in 2000 years...  8)

The trend I've noticed is:

White stars = good for minirals
Yellow stars = good for lifeforms

I've noticed that Yehat inside the solar systems tend to attack you, and those in Hyperspace tend to let you go.  If you want to succesfully mine Yehat space, invest in some thrusters early on and it won't be an issue either way.  The Yehat are SLOW.

There's a list of what planets have on PONAF.  You can find the type of planets, which ones have life and which have the best minerals.
