I guess there's no real way for me to prove this, but I was just witness to 9 Pkunk respawns in a row during a game of melee I just played. Can anyone beat this number?

I don't think number of respawns is that amazing. A noob could potentially defeat a whole fleet by respawning a hundred times, because it's absolutely random. Personally, I think it's rather annoying sometimes: It seems that whenever I play, I get no respawns, but my opponent always gets like 10. :( (Of course this isn't really happening, it just seems that way.)

As the chances of resurrection are 50%, there will on average be a streak of at least 9 respawns in 1/512th of all Fury battles (that are long enough).

Holy guacamole. Why, you must've played tens of thousands of Pkunk battles! Wasn't the Fury an overpriced ship? This is madness I say.

I had around 16, perhaps even 20 at one point, farming them using Syreen at the time at their homeworld.

A friend of mine told me he once had his Pkunk resurrect 23 times.  :o Now I was not there to see it, but he is the trustworthy type so I believe him.

This sounds pretty immoral and maybe not that cost effective. Kudos for coming up with an original way of earning RUs though.

I don't trust the random algorithm which I understand is used in the resurrection. I've heard so many stories of 10+ respawns in a row that the most logical conclusion would be that the random algorithm is broken.

And yet people do that all the time. Sucks to use up your "chance points" on resurrecting a fury 23 times instead of winning several million Euro, but them's the breaks.

50/50 odds are quite stupid regardless of RNG. I'm giving Pkunk 70/30 revive odds, -10% every time it comes back to life for the next mod update.

I think Angus's friend has the highest number. I don't keep count in my games. I'm sure I've broken 10 but never 20.

A different record: My Arilou once telefragged on its third teleport. Tomsik's has allegedly died on its first -- wasn't there to see it, but I've used Arilou a lot myself and have no doubt in my mind that a Skiff could screw over its pilot so completely. Friggin' Skiffs.

When those people are taken from a large pool, like Europe, then it happens all the time. But it's common that people play the lottery their entire lives and never win once.

Huh. I've never telefragged with an Arilou, even when obsessively smashing the teleport button.

Here’s a challenge for someone: find out the odds of teleporting into a planet on your first attempt.
