Title: Voice Volume Issue Post by: Lavargian on September 11, 2009, 03:57:24 am I just heard of this game from a friend, and from what he showed me of this game, it looks pretty awesome. So, I downloaded and installed it last night. Everything runs fine, but the only problem is that the voice volume defaults to zero. So, I set it to 100 and started a new game, but there is still no voice just music. So, I looked back in the menu and the voice volume was set back to zero. I get no error messages or anything. The voice volume just resets it's self back to zero every time I start playing. It stays set at 100 until I start the game. I can back out all the way to the main menu, and it is still set at 100, but as soon as I start playing it will go back to zero. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Download the voice package (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sc2/uqm-0.6.0-voice.uqm?download) and place it in your UQM package directory (http://wiki.uqm.stack.nl/Content_Management).

Title: Re: Voice Volume Issue Post by: Novus on September 11, 2009, 12:53:01 pm Yes, it would probably be a good idea if the speech volume control were disabled and marked "not installed" instead of just dropping down to 0 for no obvious reason.

I think I put it into the right folder but I'm not completely sure, if someone could tell me exactly where the folder is maybe it will help. I played this game along time ago and I really loved it I can't wait to start it again, with voices.

I have all of the volumes set to 100 and have the packages installed in the right places. The music and sound effects play fine, but all of the voices have very low volume. The only way you can hear them at all is by turning the music off.
This is on Windows7 32-bit with a Realtek on board sound chip. It is the same with the OpenAL and mixSDL sound drivers. Also, are you sure you restarted UQM after switching between OpenAL and MixSDL?This is on Windows7 32-bit with a Realtek on board sound chip. It is the same with the OpenAL and mixSDL sound drivers. |
