Title: Mac OSX voice problem
Post by: hodgeypodge on October 18, 2009, 03:59:04 am
I know this has come up in the forum several times, but none that I have seen answer my problem. When I try to put uqm-0-1.6.0-voice.ugm in Ur-Quan Masters.app/Contents/Resources/content/packages/  a window pop-ups saying 'packages' cannot be modified.  I've tried most of the suggestion that I found around on the forum, but nothing works.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  Please note that I'm not computer savvy, so please, if you can, keep it as simple as possible. Thanks

Select the packages folder and enter command i.

One of the subtabs should be 'permissions'. Give yourself write access. You may need to enter your password, if you're an administrator.

If you're not an administrator, you may need to get one.

If you're really that stuck, you can try installing in somewhere you control, like your home directory, so you won't need admin access. I'm not sure exactly how permissions inheritance works in this case.

If you're putting it in your home directory, it's nice to create a folder called "Applications" there.
