Title: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: unigolyn on January 30, 2003, 01:32:40 pm Okay, seems I'm screwed. I've gotten the shell fragment (and had it analyzed at the starbase), talked to the Mycon until they talk about the Deep Children, bought the info from the Melnorme, but I still don't get any conversation choices about the Mycon with commander Talana.
Has anyone else run into this with the 0.13 unofficial build? (the one that you can get from this forum) What can I do? I can't fight the endless armada of Mycon at Beta Brahe, and I need that damn Sun Device... Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on January 30, 2003, 01:52:40 pm Seems to be my story too...
I've gotten the shell fragment from Syra, visited a shattered world in the Mycon realm of influence, let the egg shell be examined by the scientists on earth station ("it's organic!"), asked the Mycons about shattered worlds ("deep children"), talked to the Syreens about it (Mycons destroyed Syra), helped free their ships (need Syreen shuttlecraft), told the Mycons about a "suitable" world for their "deep children" (Syreen trap), NOW: When is the best time to go to the Mycon homeworld?!? Once I only had to fight 5 Mycon ships and got the sun device, but I lost the Zoq-Fot-Pik (no more Frungy... sob!) When I loaded another game, I had to fight the whole Mycon armada at their homeworld although the Syreens decimated their numbers and talked about a success... Does anybody else know a hint here? Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: unigolyn on January 30, 2003, 02:44:50 pm Well, you've gotten farther than I have. I can't talk to Talana about anything regarding the mycons, the only option i get is 'Goodbye, commander, I shall return'.
Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on January 30, 2003, 03:19:10 pm Have you visited the Syreen's ship vault? Maybe you need to do that before the Ladies are willing to talk to you about something else?
I just went through that problem yesterday ('cause my walkthrough wasn't specific enough about the order) Maybe (and hopefully - I'm still stuck... had to back up several months because of the poor Zoq-Fot-Pik - just gotta love'em!), uh... Ah yes, maybe someone else knows anything that could help us here, please?!? Kill an Ur-Quan for me, captain ;-) Captain "Droege", commanding the "Freedom" Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: unigolyn on January 30, 2003, 03:59:55 pm I'll give that a try, I seriously doubt it'll help, though. On the other hand, ya never know.
Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: unigolyn on January 30, 2003, 04:15:53 pm Well, visiting the vault did something, namely reset the Syreen so that when I went to Betelgeuse, Talana's opening remarks were from the first time I went there. After that, however, I was back to 'Goodbye, commander'. No dialogue options, no nothing. I'm still stuck.
Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on January 30, 2003, 06:16:21 pm After visiting a shattered world in the Mycon sphere of influence I could ask the Major-Mycon at their homeworld about shattered worlds and their "deep children"...
I'm not sure whether I visited the Arilou in between or not - although I doubt it since I've only been there once to get my Quasi-Space Ur-Quan Pod refitted... If anything new comes up, let me know, please. I'll give it another shot right now, let's see what happens this time... Good luck to y'all! Capt. "Nightmare" Droege, Starship NCC-1976 Freedom Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on January 30, 2003, 06:49:17 pm Okay,
hopefully you, Unigolyn will come as far eventually... I discovered my mistake just here and then: To lure the Mycon fleet away to Organon, one has to go to the Mycon homeworld at Epsilon Scorpii I (629.1:220.8), BUT! To get the Sun Device one has to go to the shattered world at Beta Brahe I (639.5:231.2)... If only I could read the instructions properly... Hope you'll be able to get the sun device eventually! Good hunting, The Nightmare aka Cpt. Droege, P.S.S. Freedom Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: unigolyn on January 30, 2003, 07:01:38 pm Quote You, yourself, don't know the Mycon destroyed Syra just from looking at Egg Fragments. You need to be told about the Mycon Deep Children by the Arilou or the Melnorme before you can talk to Talana about it, I also think there's a way to get the Mycon to tell you, but I'd doubt it. I bought the info from the Melnorme, and I've gotten the Mycon to tell me about Deep Children by fighting them several times at Beta Brahe and Gamma Brahe. Guess I'll try the Arilou, but they haven't been talkative lately either. Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: unigolyn on January 30, 2003, 07:37:38 pm Woohoo! Problem solved, I had to talk to the Mycons at their homeworld, not on Beta Brahe (the special place). Damn off-the-cuff walkthroughs.
Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on January 30, 2003, 08:04:37 pm Well then,
hope you enjoy the game as much as I do n o w since we're getting there ;-) Oh, and I could save the Frungy-Championships by visiting their homeworld first, before I set off to get me that Sun-Device!!! Yehaaaaw! Come and get it, Ur-Quan Scum... Long live the New Alliance of Free Stars! Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: Censored on February 01, 2003, 03:34:03 am You mean, "Long Live the Empire of German_Nightmare!!"
;D Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on February 03, 2003, 09:12:07 pm I got a good laugh outta that one ;D
But to be honest, I really chose the "old" new name for my little adventure - it is a lotta fun though to listen to the replies of the starbase commander when chosing another name... Cpt. Nightmare, c.o. Starship Freedom Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: Death 999 on February 03, 2003, 11:05:46 pm Actually, when I named the alliance "The New Alliance of Free Stars" I got the impression that he thought I was a little dimwitted.
... no comments from the peanut gallery. Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: Cyamarin on February 04, 2003, 01:44:02 am Maybe, but it's funny when he says the same thing to reply to "The United Federation of Worlds!"
Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on February 04, 2003, 02:22:20 am You no *happy camper*. You make me *frumple*!
*Frumple* be *round* and yet *lumpy*. So bad!!! It is *dancing*!!! Nnnnggaaahhhhh! >:( (Just kidding - of course! You are not so *silly*!) Yes, of course. Difficulty. Problems are difficult. Let's be *special* together. *Spicy games* are always fun. Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: Omni-Sama on February 04, 2003, 03:16:28 am **Spoiler Alert**
I had this problem with my game too... I thought maybe I was unable to get the sun device and send the Mycon to Organon as they should in the game, because the option wasn't showing up. I decided to keep going and over time, it all worked out. Well, all I remember doing is going back to talk to the Mycon and fighting several of their ships until they talked about their "Deep Children"... then I travelled to the Deep Children world and suggested they find a new pad to destroy... well, it worked out in the end after I had done that and played the game for a while longer. Somehow I never remembered that little problem in the original SC2, but maybe I'm wrong... **End o' Spoilers** Title: Re: Syreen bug? *spoilers* Post by: GermanNightmare on February 04, 2003, 03:34:44 am Quote The funniest thing the Orz say is: "Yes yes, goodbye is the game, Hello! I am only joke!" Oh man, the first time I ever read that during the game on my pc I was listening to a lot of Beatles back then in the days... All it stated to me was that the Orz have had a lot of *happy time* with *Hello Goodbye*... |
