Title: using mods and starting over
Post by: Capt.Mudd on May 25, 2010, 04:27:16 am
I loaded 6.1 because I did not want the extra fights with the created (bugs or characters) but I was informed that 6.1 has a fatal crash . When and where if anyone knows. Also , does the Death March mod work in the middle of a game . I'm at 2057 August  and would like to keep up my explorations with my current saves.

I assume you mean 0.6.1. You can't save the game properly in 0.6.1. The resulting save files will be missing some data, which will manifest as all sorts of strange behaviour.

I assume you mean 2157. The de-cleansing mod changes the Kohr-Ah death march date to be 100 years after the start of the game (i.e. February 2255) when a saved game is loaded.

The De-Cleansing mod only works if you load a save before the Kohr-Ah start their holocaust.

De-cleansing mod? I finished the game already but I'm just curious where and how do you get that?

Here's a handy index of all the UQM mods around.

You never get tired of posting SCDB links, do you?  :p

Only if there are more relevant links to post, such as Ultronomicon ones  :P

In all seriousness, I do try to make a point of posting PNF and SCDB links here now and then. Mostly because I have a feeling there are a lot of SC fans out there who just check in here every now and then and go "well this place is slow, so sad that the community is dying" without ever really being aware of the fact that the community is bigger than this one forum. the thought that people might be leaving because they simply don't know better makes me sad.

Indeed, so true and so sad.
Clarification- my first remark on the issue was not a call to cease, my active membership there is hopefully a testimony to that.

Thank you!  Now if only I can get them to work on Linux...
Only if there are more relevant links to post, such as Ultronomicon ones  :P
I love Ultronomicon!
What the link said about how moddable UQM is...um... now if  I can "mod" a cruiser to look like a dreadnought (just LOOK like one) I'll call that an accomplishment but that'd be pretty dumb.  I personally think this forum is pretty active (and thats gathered out of today's observations).

Actually, doing that would just require replacing the Cruiser graphics with the Dreadnought graphics in an addon package. Not a mod, just an addon.
