Title: lil' question about a key Post by: The Guy on January 17, 2011, 07:52:55 pm hello
My question is about an option i saw in the super melee. When you select the ships you're gonna use, in one side of that window (that window that appears with the list of all ships) it says "A - pick ship" and in the other side "C - ship info". I supposed that the last one would display a ship profile, like in Star Con 1, but i cant find that C key, does anyone know where's that key? Therefore, on the 3DO, pressing the C button would have shown the ship info. The videos that were included with the 3DO version are not included with UQM because of copyright issues (though the intro and ending videos can be played if you have them), and if I'm not mistaken, UQM version 0.6.2 can't be made to play the ship videos even if you have them available.

Half correct: With my FMV mod you can view such videos if you have the 3DO videos available. I believe they are making support for them in the next release and making slides for those that don't have the 3DO videos. Although I'm not sure on that last part. Then add a line to your keys.cfg in the UQM app data folder. Although If you don't feel like going through the trouble you can check out all the videos on my youtube channel: 3DO Commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjZXaKddoqw) Opening Sequence (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AMw89H-Yjs) Ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPpYAUmNzY8) Ship Descriptions (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJYxh7FU3s4) Title: Re: lil' question about a key Post by: Novus on January 19, 2011, 01:15:54 pm From the 3DO version of Star Control II; You'd have to acquire the CD, extract the videos and organize them into folders. While I appreciate what you've done here, I don't quite understand why you can convert and upload the videos to YouTube but not provide the original video files for download. Does YouTube have some sort of compulsory licensing thing going on that lets you do this? Then add a line to your keys.cfg in the UQM app data folder. I would gladly archive up my slides folder and put it up for grabs if told otherwise. I honestly don't know about youtube, I put them up there to be informational but so far not a peep about copyright issues. |
