Title: Hazeron - Alpha space game
Post by: Salabasama on March 27, 2011, 07:24:10 am
I have decided that I've waited long enough, a month or two, without a response, that it is now time to make a topic.  I wanna share this with you folks because I'm guessing you might enjoy it.

Should give http://www.hazeron.com/ (http://www.hazeron.com/) a try.  I was about to make a topic about it, and then get labeled as a bot probably because I just joined and it'd be my first post.  Hazeron is an in-development small scale MMO space colonization/war/diplomacy/empire building game, set in first person perspective primarily.  You can found your own empires or join other player's empires, and build starships and search for particularly high quality resources and such.  It's possible to command any of your ships carrying NPC officers using the comm as well, and you can design the ships in a tile/deck fashion, which looks a bit chunky at the moment, but is nevertheless continually improving.  There's not really much to fight wars over at the moment beyond proving who is better, but then again it's still a work in progress.  Also if you get a motorcycle onto a ship, you can drive it into the sun.  I hope that's a decent persuasive blurb.  Here's some screen shots too.

That's the space station of my home planet.  In an effort to replace it, I ended up crashing it into the sea after switching around the life support and the engines' power supplies, where it broke down in a few days due to water damage.

There's an animal which was standing in the way of progress.  The animals on each planet are randomly generated using the same rules as those for player species.

That, I believe, was me taking a picture of the suns in a binary system after having fallen from a starship which was leaving a planet.  There isn't any falling damage implemented yet, not sure why, so it's not that uncommon right now for players to re-enter the atmosphere in nothing but a space suit after stepping off of a space station.

This sounds very good. Is it free-to-play?

Presently, yes.  The maker explained that he supports it off his software company.
